Inspired by the uncomplicated innocence of Angela Brazil’s schoolgirl novels, Denise Deegan’s comedy brilliantly parodies the life and soul of a gels’ boarding school of yesteryear’ – all gym slips and hockey sticks, a sort of St Trinians without the delinquency! The plucky heroine, Daisy Meredith, with the help of her best friend, the zany Trixie Martin, overcomes a series of trials and tribulations by being honourable and straight in all things, even saving the lives of sneaky Monica and toady Sybil – her arch-enemies.

The original and hugely successful West End Production of Daisy Pulls it Off was presented by the Really Useful Theatre Company Ltd in 1983 at The Gielgud Theatre.

“….perfectly ripping, absolutely spiffing, not to mention ‘scrummy’ entertainment….” Sunday Express

Description

The Theatre is located on the delightful Two Sisters Lawn in the award winning gardens of Hever Castle in Kent, adjacent to the legendary Anne Boleyn Walk – the Castle was originally the home of the Boleyn family. The lawn is surrounded by some delightful flower beds including the famous ‘long border’ and an abundance of ornamental trees; it also contains the picturesque Two Sisters pond (and grotto) and a magnificent Tulip Tree.

As well as being a visual delight, the setting provides a natural auditorium with easy access to the theatre car park and the lakeside for those who prefer to picnic in view of the lake. For the others, the lawn itself provides a convenient and relaxing spot for that preshow picnic.

Additional Information:
All evening performances start at 8pm unless otherwise stated.  The castle gates open at 6.30pm for pre theatre picnics.  Matinee performances start at 2.30pm and the gates open at 2pm.

To book call the theatre box office on (01732) 866114 or for more information go to http://www.heverfestival.co.uk.
