The 231 seat venue is situated within the grounds of Homewood School in the picturesque town of Tenterden in Kent. As well as providing a base for the school's own productions, The Sinden also offers a wide range of entertainment to the people of south-east Kent.
JBishop Okiring pupils are encouraged not only to perform well academically, but also to make the best use of their talents and become role models to the rest of society. In this predominantly rural and agricultural area near the slopes of Mount Elgon on the Kenyan-Ugandan border, the onions, potatoes, maize and other produce are of huge importance and a significant aspect of local identity and culture. The school say they would provide visitors with gifts of natural honey and sour milk by which to remember the area.
Having been born in Sudan, raised in Egypt and London and moving to the states at 14, Luol has become one of the worlds great basketball players. Luol plys his trade as a forward for the Chicago Bulls and is set to captain the British basketball team in London 2012.
Fencer Olga Kharlan won Olympic gold at Beijing 2008 as part of the the Ukrainian sabre team and scored over half of the team's points in the final. She has been named Ukraininan athlete of the year for the last two years and also won gold at the 2009 European Fencing Championships. Olga went to two schools in the city of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine.
