Description
Christopher Marlowe's notorious Edward II, was banned from school curriculums across the country, provoked television productions, theatre revivals and ballets throughout the world, and now Kent Theatre Company want to bring Marlowe's best work back to his home county.
This epic production with a cast of 20+ actors set in post-apocalyptic England in the 1940's, explores the unhappy relationship between love and power. The protagonists are a homosexual king and his lover, who the nobles plan a mutiny against; the resulting rebellions, revenges and romances culminate in one of the most thrilling tragedies in English history. It is a bloody and violent play with many twists and turns that offer performers the oppertunity to tackle classical acting and psychological approaches to this touring performance.
