CAUGHT IN THE NET (A Kent Rep Production)
by Ray Cooney
Friday 16th July – Saturday 24th July
matinee – Thurs 22nd July
no performance on Mon 19th & Tues 20th July
Some thirty years ago, founder of the famous Theatre of Comedy, Ray Cooney penned his hugely successful comedy Run for your Wife. The play revolves around a London taxi driver, who is leading a double life with two different wives. Twenty years on, Cooney wrote its sequel Caught in the Net, in which we find our hero with two teenage children, one by each of his wives. The two children make contact via the internet and are naturally fascinated to meet someone who boasts a dad with the same name and job as theirs!
Needless to say Dad is most anxious this shouldn’t happen and all sorts of comic hell breaks loose as he wrestles with the problem of keeping them, and their mothers, apart.

Description
The Theatre is located on the delightful Two Sisters Lawn in the award winning gardens of Hever Castle in Kent, adjacent to the legendary Anne Boleyn Walk – the Castle was originally the home of the Boleyn family. The lawn is surrounded by some delightful flower beds including the famous ‘long border’ and an abundance of ornamental trees; it also contains the picturesque Two Sisters pond (and grotto) and a magnificent Tulip Tree.
As well as being a visual delight, the setting provides a natural auditorium with easy access to the theatre car park and the lakeside for those who prefer to picnic in view of the lake. For the others, the lawn itself provides a convenient and relaxing spot for that preshow picnic.
Additional Information:
All evening performances start at 8pm unless otherwise stated. The castle gates open at 6.30pm for pre theatre picnics. Matinee performances start at 2.30pm and the gates open at 2pm.
