This Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase is about amiable Elwood P Dowd and his imaginary friend - Harvey - a six foot white rabbit. Elwood's sister has seen enough of her brother's eccentric behaviour which is affecting the chances of her daughter finding a suitable husband and she attempts to have him committed to an asylum. What follows is a morality tale at heart, as Harvey reminds us of the power of kindness and of the imagination. The play is set in the early 1940's.
