Whats On In Kent Theatres
Ticket Price - £17.50
The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, who take their name from Shakespeare’s own touring company, have gained a reputation for original, exciting and entertaining productions performed upon the same principles that Shakespeare himself championed. Most notably the play is performed by an all-male cast.
Macbeth is Shakespeare’s shortest tragedy and in essence a political thriller that resonates with modern audiences all too familiar with the machinations and self-serving actions of politicians and their wives!.>
Blood, battles, weird sisters – it can only be one play, Macbeth
“Open air theatre as it should be and at its very, very best” - BBC

The Theatre is located on the delightful Two Sisters Lawn in the award winning gardens of Hever Castle in Kent, adjacent to the legendary Anne Boleyn Walk – the Castle was originally the home of the Boleyn family. The lawn is surrounded by some delightful flower beds including the famous ‘long border’ and an abundance of ornamental trees; it also contains the picturesque Two Sisters pond (and grotto) and a magnificent Tulip Tree.
As well as being a visual delight, the setting provides a natural auditorium with easy access to the theatre car park and the lakeside for those who prefer to picnic in view of the lake. For the others, the lawn itself provides a convenient and relaxing spot for that preshow picnic.
Additional Information:
All evening performances start at 8pm unless otherwise stated. The castle gates open at 6.30pm for pre theatre picnics. Matinee performances start at 2.30pm and the gates open at 2pm.
